Role Overview

Reporting to the Manager, ERP Data & Reporting, the Data Quality Lead is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the enterprise-wide data quality management framework within the Data Governance Office. This role ensures that critical data assets meet defined standards of accuracy, completeness, and reliability, enabling better decision-making and regulatory compliance. The Lead partners with business and technology stakeholders to define data quality requirements, embed controls in operational processes, and drive remediation of data quality issues.

The ideal candidate contributes a valuable mix of technical expertise, analytical thinking, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a validated ability to turn data quality into a business enabler.

The successful Lead will collaborate across enterprise business functions and data domains, including: Data Governance Lead, Data Owners, Data Stewards, Technology/Data Platform teams, Compliance, and Business SMEs.

Important measures of success include:

  • Adoption and maturity of the enterprise Data Quality Framework
  • Reduction in recurring data quality issues through sustainable root cause remediation
  • Improvement in data quality metrics (accuracy, completeness, timeliness, consistency, validity, uniqueness)
  • Effectiveness of dashboards, scorecards, and reporting to deliver actionable insights
  • Collaborator engagement and happiness with data quality practices

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental policies and procedures
  • Lead the design, rollout, and continuous improvement of the enterprise Data Quality Framework in alignment with Data Governance objectives
  • Define, implement, and monitor data quality rules, thresholds, and controls across priority data domains
  • Lead all aspects of the identification, root cause analysis, and remediation of data quality issues, partnering with Data Owners, Stewards, and Technology teams
  • Establish and maintain enterprise data quality dashboards and scorecards to supervise trends, highlight issues, and track progress
  • Drive the embedding of data quality practices into operational processes, data pipelines, and business decision-making
  • Collaborate with Technology teams to configure, optimize, and extend the use of data quality tools and platforms (e.g., Informatica DQ, Collibra, Microsoft Purview)
  • Monitor industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to guide continuous improvement and maintain compliance
  • Lead with vision and thoughtfulness and advocate for data quality across the organization, encouraging a culture of accountability and ownership
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of technical experience, with at least 5+ years in data quality, data governance, or data management, with leadership responsibility for quality initiatives
  • Deep understanding of data quality concepts, frameworks, and dimensions, with hands-on experience in data profiling, root cause analysis, and remediation
  • Experience with enterprise data governance and quality tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica DQ, Purview) and solid understanding of SQL or equivalent query languages
  • Deep proficiency with assessing data sets, identifying anomalies, and translating findings into meaningful business insights
  • Confirmed ability to lead multi-functional teams, achieve agreement, and drive adoption of data quality practices
  • Ability to link data quality improvements to business value, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance
  • In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBoK, DCAM) and quality management principles

Pay Range: CAD $119,000 - $147,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
