Position Overview
As a Manager at Amato Trattoria, you play a key leadership role in ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional guest experiences. You lead by example, supporting both the front-of-house and kitchen teams to maintain consistency, communication, and excellence in service. Your focus is to create an environment that reflects Amato's spirit of genuine hospitality, one where employees feel supported and guests feel welcomed like family. This role requires a strong floor presence, attention to detail, and the ability to balance service, leadership, and teamwork seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
Support and collaborate with management to oversee daily operations and maintain brand standards.
Lead, mentor, and motivate employees to deliver warm, consistent, and professional hospitality.
Foster a positive, team-focused workplace that promotes communication and growth.
Manage floor operations, staffing levels, and shift coverage to ensure seamless service flow.
Maintain guest satisfaction through active engagement and hands-on leadership.
Assist with staff training, onboarding, and ongoing performance development.
Oversee bar operations and beverage presentation standards; ensure product consistency and quality.
Support coordination between service and kitchen teams to ensure communication, pacing, and timing.
Monitor inventory, ordering, and cost-control practices to achieve financial targets.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and liquor regulations.
Respond to guest concerns and feedback with professionalism and urgency.
Collaborate on marketing promotions, special events, and seasonal offerings.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a full-service restaurant.
Serving It Right certification (required).
First Aid certification is an asset.
Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations, including bar and wine service.
General understanding of kitchen operations ingredients, plating standards, expo flow, and allergy awareness.
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Proven ability to train, coach, and develop employees in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of cost control, scheduling, and service flow management.
Professional demeanor and calm presence under pressure.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
