Business Analyst

Job Description:

On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is looking for a Research Business Analyst to be responsible for the requirements and deliverables of the projects assigned as well as ensuring adherence to the organization's Policies, the ITIO Methodology, and specific Solution Delivery processes and standards.

Responsibilities:

Ensure adherence to the ITIO Methodology, use of our BA standard templates as well as the specific

Solution Delivery processes and standards.

• Liaise with the ITIO group for additional guidance on ITIO BA standards.
• Ensure all project documentation and deliverables are stored in the official SharePoint project repository.
• Ensure that project decisions are formally documented as per ITIO Methodology.
• Provide reporting and status updates to the ITIO team as required.
• Ensure compliance with University standards, policies and procedures.

Deliverables

1. Requirements Analysis, Requirements Management and Solution Design

2. Review with stakeholders documented Business, Functional, Non-Functional and Transition

3. Requirements and obtain sign off.
4. Trace all requirements through design, testing and quality assurance.
5. Assist in the determination of solutions with associated costs and risks.
6. Coordinate requirement and business design approvals/changes.

7. Deliverable: Traceability Matrix and decision records

8. Solution Implementation

9. Assist technical teams in understanding requirements and business design so that effective technical solutions are implemented.

10. Build out people, policy, and process deliverables.
11. Transition to operations
12. Build Support and Governance models with technical teams

13. Deliverable: RASCI, Support and Governance models

14. Reporting

15. Existing reports and queries

16. New management reports and queries
17. Prepare test cases, execute testing and track deficiencies
18. Validate new and existing reports for usability, relevance, and alignment with business processes and governance needs

Qualifications and skills:

• Minimum 8 years' experience as a Business Analyst.
• Strong background in data conversion and migration from third-party systems
• Experience with PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 (up to Image 49) and PeopleTools 8.60, including functional modules such as Grants, Contracts, and Project Costing (Nice to Have)
• Experience working on enterprise level programs and familiarity with BA methodologies and tools.
• Ability to work with a large cross-section of users (Research, Finance and Research Legal)
• Strong facilitation skills
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of stakeholders.
• Strategic, critical and analytical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving.
• Influence and engage all levels of stakeholders and support change.
• Ensure the library of project documentation are maintained and communicated to the consultants, developers and the entire team
• Post secondary/public sector experience (Nice to Have)
• Highly proficient in communication skills
