About the Opportunity
Our client, an organization based in Toronto, is seeking an experienced and self-sufficient Intermediate Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys variety in their work, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and thrives in a collaborative yet independent environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for full-cycle accounting, including AP, AR, reconciliations, and month-end reporting, with occasional involvement in tax preparation and filings. Experience in a manufacturing environment will be considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform full-cycle accounting duties, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

  • Maintain the general ledger and support financial statement preparation.

  • Prepare and review bank reconciliations and other balance sheet accounts.

  • Assist with tax (HST/GST) filings and other compliance reporting as required.

  • Support the preparation of year-end working papers and liaise with external auditors.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency within the accounting function.

  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for management.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing setting.

  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and full-cycle accounting principles.

  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems) and strong Excel skills.

  • Exposure to tax compliance (corporate or indirect tax) is an asset.

  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation & Work Environment

  • Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
