About the Role

The Senior Accountant at our firm plays an essential role in supporting small business owners on their journey to success. They take the time to understand each client's unique needs and aspirations, providing personalized financial advice and guidance that helps them achieve their goals and grow their businesses.

What Your Day to Day Will Look Like

• Oversee, communicate & be responsible for a group of our clients to ensure that they are well-serviced from A-Z and that they are kept satisfied
• Prepare & complete year-end financial statements and present them to our clients
• Assist in onboarding new clients by helping to clean up messy books
• Review the day-to-day work performed by others to ensure that everything is on track
• Be accountable for the quality and timeliness of all tasks related to group of clients that are assigned to you
• Assist with some of our virtual CFO services, such as budgeting, cash flow projections, KPI reports, consolidations and other miscellaneous management reports that may be required by our clients
• Assist with bookkeeping & sales tax related tasks

What You Need to Succeed

• CPA Designation or working towards (Good to have but not mandatory)
• You have at least 3 years of accounting experience
• You have experience working in a small accounting firm with multiple clients
• You are a clear communicator (written and verbal)
• You believe in delivering awesome customer service and you have experience in a customer-facing role
• You are able to take a messy set of books and turn it into something pretty.
• You have experience constructing year-end financial statements
• You are able to and like working in a fast-paced environment
• You are exceptionally structured & organized
• You are a problem solver
• You have experience managing others (or managing projects)
• You have T1, T2 and GST/HST filing experience
• Compilation/NTR experience (Good to have but not required)
• You are exceptionally tech savvy at using accounting software applications
• You have experience with various accounting systems, notably Quickbooks Online
• Advance excel skills would greatly help

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
