Join Our Winter Operations Team as a Shoveller / Driver

Verdant DBM Inc is hiring reliable and hardworking Shoveller / Drivers to join our snow removal team for the upcoming winter season. Experience is an asset — we're looking for motivated individuals with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude to help keep our communities safe and clear this winter.

This position may lead to summer employment for the right candidates.

Position: Shoveller / Driver

Role Overview

You will be responsible for driving a designated residential route and shovelling city sidewalks to maintain safe pedestrian access during snow and ice events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive a company vehicle along an assigned residential route.
  • Shovel and clear snow from city sidewalks and walkways.
  • Safely and efficiently remove snow and ice from assigned areas.
  • Apply ice melt as needed.
  • Complete required paperwork and reporting accurately.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and expectations.
  • Be available 24/7 on-call during snow or ice events — including overnight, weekends, and holidays (Christmas & New Year's).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving abstract.
  • Minimum 1 year of driving experience.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all winter weather conditions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Access to a smartphone for communication and reporting.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the yard.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work long or overnight hours during weather events.
