Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Snow Removal & Landscape Labourer to efficiently complete snow removal operations during the winter months and landscape maintenance operations during the summer months . This role involves operating snow plow equipment to ensure safe and accessible roads, driveways, and parking areas, as well as lawn and garden maintenance equipment to maintain and enhance lawn and garden areas at residential, commercial and industrial sites across Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial and industrial snow removal operations and landscape maintenance, with the ability to work in challenging weather conditions. A valid G license with a clean driver's abstract is required.

Duties

  • Operate snow plow trucks and related equipment to clear snow from roads, parking lots, and walkways
  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on plow vehicles and lawn maintenance equipment to ensure optimal operation
  • Use hand tools and power tools for minor repairs or adjustments to equipment as needed
  • Assist with landscaping, gardening, or irrigation tasks during summer periods to support overall site maintenance
  • Conduct safety checks before and after snow removal operations to prevent accidents or equipment failure
  • Collaborate with team members to prioritize routes and ensure timely snow clearance
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed and equipment used during shifts

Skills

  • 2+ years proven experience operating snow plow trucks or similar heavy machinery
  • Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and minor repairs of plow equipment and vehicles
  • Familiarity with landscape maintenance, gardening, horticulture, irrigation systems, and construction tools
  • Ability to handle hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures related to snow removal and equipment operation
  • Physical stamina to work in cold weather conditions for extended periods and ability to consistently lift 50+ pounds
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow directions accurately
  • Must possess valid G license with a clean driver's abstract

This position is vital for maintaining safe access during winter weather conditions. Candidates should be prepared for physically demanding work in outdoor environments while demonstrating strong mechanical aptitude and safety awareness.

Reliability is key in this position. You will be on-call and expected to be fit for work 24/7, including overnights, weekends, and holidays from November 1 through March 31. We offer a guarantee of paid hours per week over the winter months and a comprehensive benefits package after a 90-day probationary period.
