About the role
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales ED, the Sales Director is tasked with driving the efficient and profitable sale of all products within the designated area. This role involves leading a motivated team to ensure exceptional sales representation. By meeting sales, marketing, and customer satisfaction objectives, the Sales Director will enable Leviton to achieve maximum profitability and expand its market share.
Responsibilities
Administration and Planning
- Develop and present area objectives, strategic plans, and sales budget.
- Use tracking tools to monitor performance and take corrective measures.
- Participate in product pricing within budget and margin objectives.
- Evaluate product performance, new item acceptance, promotion effectiveness, and sales figures.
- Set annual targets for representatives and track results.
- Plan and present the business planning calendar with quarterly updates.
- Identify marketplace trends and relay significant findings.
Sales Development
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop programs and identify trends.
- Work on local promotions to optimize item needs, prices, and quantities.
- Support Marketing in planning and allocating marketing funds (COOP).
Sales Management
- Provide monthly updates for each business unit.
- Conduct monthly meetings to develop sales/distribution plans.
- Hold bi-weekly sales meetings to foster teamwork and information exchange.
- Define territory limits for representatives and monitor performance.
- Visit independent accounts and conduct quarterly business reviews.
- Ensure alignment of representation and product presentations with corporate goals.
Sales Development
- Maintain contact with construction specifiers and ensure follow-up on specifications.
- Coordinate activities with other Sales Directors for job bids.
- Report specifiers' needs and suggest new products and policy changes.
- Schedule technical seminars for end users and special projects.
Personnel Management
- Review area structure and propose modifications.
- Ensure ongoing training, coaching, and motivation of direct reports.
- Evaluate performance of direct reports and provide necessary training.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products, as well as business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
- Excellent command of English, both spoken and written. We are looking for someone proficient in English to communicate with contacts across Canada and with colleagues in the United States.
- Excellent judgment, with the ability to establish priorities, develop, and direct individuals.
- In-depth working knowledge of systems such as Oracle, Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent CRM platforms.
- Proven ability to train, coach, and motivate team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Experience in conducting performance evaluations and recommending compensation adjustments based on individual contributions, corporate guidelines, and market conditions.
- Ability to analyze market trends and identify potential growth areas, contributing to the development of effective marketing and sales strategies.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development roles.

Relevant du vice-président des ventes, le directeur des ventes, est chargé d'assurer l'atteinte des cibles de ventes de manière efficace et rentable pour tous les produits dans les territoires qui lui sont assignés, soit la Colombie-Britannique, l'Alberta, la Saskatchewan et le Manitoba. Responsabilités
- Élabore et présente des objectifs régionaux, des plans stratégiques et un budget de vente par produit, territoire et saison.
- Utilise des outils de suivi de rendement et prend les mesures correctives nécessaires pour assurer l'exécution du plan stratégique et atteindre une pénétration maximale du marché conformément aux objectifs à long terme de l'entreprise.
Participe et conseille sur le prix des produits, dans les limites des budgets établis et des objectifs de marge bénéficiaire brute.
Fournit des mises à jour mensuelles pour chaque unité opérationnelle du territoire, couvrant les tendances, les actions, les gains et pertes importants, les principales priorités, les enjeux, les préoccupations et les recommandations.
Planifie des réunions mensuelles avec les directeurs d'unités d'affaires et les gestionnaires de produits pour élaborer des plans de vente et de distribution annuels et trimestriels, incluant des stratégies et des tactiques pour le lancement de nouveaux produits et la promotion continue des produits existants.
Établit et maintien des relations avec les architectes, les ingénieurs-conseils, les ingénieurs électriciens, les services d'achat gouvernementaux, les responsables de l'industrie et les entrepreneurs en électricité.
- Assure un suivi rigoureux des soumissions et des projets.
- Coordonne les activités avec les autres directeurs des ventes lors des soumissions pour des travaux dans d'autres domaines, en veillant à ce que toute substitution de produit soit préalablement approuvée par le prescripteur.
- Soutient l'équipe de marketing dans la planification et l'affectation des fonds de marketing des clients du territoire, en veillant au respect des règles et des lignes directrices du programme de fonds de marketing de l'entreprise.
Qualifications requises
- Connaissance approfondie des principes et des méthodes de présentation, de promotion et de vente de produits, ainsi que des principes commerciaux et de gestion liés à la planification stratégique, à l'affectation des ressources, à la modélisation des ressources humaines, aux techniques de leadership et à la coordination des personnes et des ressources.
Formation et expérience
- Baccalauréat en administration des affaires, en marketing, en vente ou dans un domaine connexe.
- Minimum de 5 à 7 ans d'expérience dans des rôles de vente, de marketing ou de développement des affaires.
