We are looking for a Front of House Cashier to work

Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesdays (and the occasional weekend)

Springfield Bulk Foods has been a locally owned and operated Bulk Food Store, serving our community for 40 years Now under new ownership, another local family is excited for the current renovations to make room for more products, and to usher in the next 40 years of exceptional service.

Role

You are a friendly and conscientious person who is great at helping customers.

You are friendly and kind, but you also know how to stay on task and keep things moving on a busy day. You take pride in your work, your work environment, and you understand the importance of things being presentable and clean.

As a Front End Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth operations at the front end of our store. Your friendly demeanor, attention to detail, and ability to work well in a team will contribute to creating a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service/Cash
  • Store Appearance/Image

Specifics

Responsible for the overall look/appearance of the store as well as the customer experience. Cleanliness needs to be top of mind at all times.

Customer Service

  • Customer Service (Greeting customers with a smile and hello)
  • Assisting customers as needed
  • Follow Opening / Closing procedures
  • Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately
  • Ensuring Discounts and Case prices are followed
  • Forward Customer orders to BOH
  • Refill customer bags, scoops, bin ties, etc.

Filling Product

  • Facing products on shelves and in cooler
  • Filling cooler with the product as needed

Store Appearance/Image

  • Replacing customer scoops as needed (if dropped)
  • Following Sanitization Plans
  • Washing customer bin scoops
  • Following cleaning schedule
  • Dusting/Vacuuming and sanitizing till daily (and throughout the day)
  • Dusting/Vacuuming bins and shelves
  • Sweep floors around till
  • Ensure all towels go in laundry

Experience

  • Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment preferred
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient operations at the front end
  • Proficient in English, both verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic math skills for cash handling and performing transactions accurately

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must be able to move about the store assisting customers for 8 hours
  • Must be willing to work alone

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $17.85-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
