Sensei Labs is seeking a Lead Full Stack Engineer. As a core member of an Agile team, your primary focus will be on designing, developing, and maintaining robust applications across the front-end and back-end, ensuring seamless integration and superior performance. In this role, you'll also serve as a key technical leader, advancing the technology stack, optimizing performance, and enhancing developer workflows. Your expertise in C#, front-end frameworks, and scalable back-end systems will shape both the immediate feature delivery and the long-term evolution of our product, ensuring high standards of code quality and scalability across projects.

What You'll Do:

  • Leadership and Mentorship: Actively mentor and guide fellow engineers, creating opportunities for learning and growth. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages open communication, embraces diverse perspectives, and promotes continuous improvement.
  • Architect and Implement Frontend Solutions: Design and build scalable features, ensuring smooth integration between the front-end and back-end, with a focus on performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Optimize Frontend Performance: Diagnose and address performance bottlenecks, ensuring smooth and efficient operation across large-scale applications.
  • Improve Developer Experience: Implement new tools, libraries, and frameworks to improve developer productivity, simplify workflows, and increase the quality of the codebase.
  • Enhance Security Measures: Ensure adherence to security best practices, protecting against vulnerabilities such as injection attacks and data breaches.
  • Collaborate on System Architecture: Work with peers and stakeholders to create and review technical designs, ensuring a robust, scalable, and efficient system architecture.
  • Drive Technology Standards: Advocate for and implement new technologies and approaches to optimize the efficiency and scalability of the architecture.
  • Maintain High Code Quality: Regularly contribute to the codebase, performing thorough code reviews to maintain high standards in code organization, simplicity, and readability.
  • Test Automation: Develop and maintain automated testing pipelines for both front-end and back-end components to ensure a reliable deployment process.
  • Enhance User Experience: Collaborate closely with product designers and other stakeholders to create features that deliver a seamless and engaging user experience.
  • Scale and Optimize: Improve tooling and infrastructure for measuring and optimizing performance in real-world scenarios.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in Full Stack Development: 7+ years of experience as a software engineer or in a similar role, with a strong emphasis on technical leadership and hands-on development.
  • Expertise in C# and .NET Frameworks: Extensive experience with C# and .NET (or .NET Core), with deep knowledge of RESTful API development and integration.
  • Front-End Proficiency: Strong experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Blazor, with a solid understanding of the full development lifecycle.
  • Performance and Security Focus: Proven experience in optimizing application performance for large-scale systems and ensuring best practices in security across the stack.
  • Cloud and DevOps Knowledge: Solid experience with cloud-based environments, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Scalability and Modularity: Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable architectures with modular components and performance optimization techniques.
  • Proactive Problem Solver: Ability to work autonomously and make the right technical decisions to drive the business forward.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Open-Source Contributions: A history of contributing to open-source projects or supporting the broader software engineering community.
  • Advanced Knowledge: Expertise in advanced topics such as microservices architecture, serverless computing, or message-based systems.
  • Collaboration Skills: Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Cloud Expertise: Familiarity with cloud services such as Azure or AWS, with an understanding of how infrastructure and performance tie into application scalability.

About Sensei Labs and Conductor

Conductor empowers transformative journeys for the world's largest companies, government agencies, professional service firms, and private equity funds by providing a single source of truth, accountability, and governance on their terms.

Our mission is to continuously build the best, easiest-to-use, and most reliable software that empowers the world's large enterprises and governments to solve their most critical problems. Our team uses modern, award-winning digital tools to orchestrate work and foster collaboration. We thoughtfully select our work orchestration stack to empower all team members to work in the most productive and efficient way possible.

Four things every Sensei LOVES:

  1. Four Day Week (4DW): Every Sensei enjoys a highly productive four-day work week with Fridays off—without the expectation of working ten-hour days. We focus on improving productivity so we can achieve our work in four days instead of five. We believe this fosters a culture where work-life balance and mental wellness are priorities. Our team loves it, and we hope you will, too
  2. Work from Anywhere (WFA) policy: Our Senseis can work from anywhere in the world as long as they have a laptop and a reliable internet connection. We're proud to break the stereotype that work only gets done when people show up at an office.
  3. Living our SENSEI values: Everything we do is guided by our SENSEI values: Selfless, Empathetic, Nimble, Skilled, Entrepreneurial, and Integrity. These values inform every aspect of our work—from this job description to hiring and promotions.
  4. "No Email" policy: At Sensei Labs, we rely on our Conductor platform and Microsoft Teams for communication. We've eliminated all unnecessary internal emails.

We continue to build an amazing, diverse team and inclusive culture. Our competitive advantage is rooted in our team members' unique perspectives and experiences. We encourage you to apply even if you don't have all the qualifications listed but want to bring new ideas and perspectives to augment our team.

We're very proud of our team's achievements and the culture we've built together.
