About Chemshift Technologies:

Chemshift Technologies Inc. ("Chemshift") is an Alberta-based cleantech business striving to transform the North American lithium supply chain through the development of innovative lithium refining technology. Chemshift has developed technology to convert crude lithium materials into battery-grade lithium materials and is currently undergoing efforts to commercialize this technology.

The opportunity:

Chemshift is seeking a Product Development Engineer to help drive the development and scale-up of its lithium refining technology. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for designing, building, operating, and optimizing prototype-scale chemical processing modules. These modules will serve as data collection tools to inform a commercial-scale design basis. As part of the team, you will also gain exposure to process flowsheet development, mechanical and process engineering documentation, project management, third-party technology partnerships, and intellectual property development.

You would be a great fit if you:

  • Hold a BSc/BASc in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Are passionate about technology development, and possess a relentless problem-solving attitude
  • Can take on difficult, time-constrained goals, break them down into specific and measurable deliverables, and independently build what's needed to achieve them
  • Have experience designing and executing experiments, analyzing results, and drawing data-driven conclusions to guide next steps
  • Have experience designing/building complex mechanical systems, and are familiar working with data collection and IOT systems (bonus)
  • Have familiarity with 2D & 3D CAD software (i.e., Solidworks, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, AutoCAD), and a broad range of hands-on fabrication skills (hand/power tools, manual/CNC machining, 3D printing, etc.) (bonus)
  • Seek responsibility, are creative, thrive working autonomously, and can tell a good joke
  • Have experience in a fast-paced or startup environment (bonus)
