Your role

Your responsibilities
- Manage safety programs, special projects, and awareness campaigns in compliance with SLSMC policies, applicable legislation, and all relevant standards and regulations;
- Design, plan, and deliver prevention-focused training programs and information sessions, ensuring effective change management;
- Develop and deploy practical tools to support internal clients;
- Participate in joint safety committees and provide an advisory support;
- Partner with all levels of management to build and maintain a strong safety culture;
- Develop, review, and update safety procedures in accordance with legislative and regulatory amendments, and ensure their application;
- Analyze and validate documentation related to maintenance activities, safety inspections, and accident investigations, and provide recommendations;
- Participate in workplace inspections and in the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses; identify corrective actions and ensure follow-up on recommendations.
Your profile
- University degree or college diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline;
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in occupational health and safety within a unionized, industrial environment;
- Strong priority management and organizational capabilities in an operational context;
- Well-developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills;
- Proficiency in French and English, both oral and written, to effectively collaborate with teams located in Québec and Ontario;
- Valid Class G (Ontario) or Class 5 (Québec) driver's licence with an insurable driving record;
- Eligible to obtain Marine Transportation Security Clearance.
