What You Will Contribute To The Team
Black & McDonald's NS Commercial team is growing If you are an independent, enthusiastic, and driven professional searching for an opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you. The Project Coordinator is in the office and typically reports directly to the Project Managers.
Project Coordinators assist with overall project performance, including the management of costs, schedule, quality, and overall project status, while maintaining excellent relationships with trades, subcontractors, and clients. The Project Coordinator will keep the Project Manager informed of project progress, discrepancies, and any issues that may impact the schedule or execution.
Duties And Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Assist Project Managers in ensuring project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are in accordance with company policy and contract specifications.
- Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established timelines.
- Assist in preparing contracts and revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Assist in budget analysis, cost and margin projections, and estimate project changes and impacts.
- Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs.
- Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships.
- Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
- Coordinate trades and subcontractors.
- Maintain document control within Procore.
- Purchase supplies and materials as required to complete the project.
What You Can Offer
- Diploma in Construction Management Technology, or
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), or
- HVAC Technology Diploma or relevant experience
- 2+ years of equivalent trade experience or project coordination experience in construction
Skills Abilities And Other Requirements
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of the construction industry
- Contract management
- Planning and scheduling skills
- Understanding of project forecasting and projections
- Financial statements – read and comprehend
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Competency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office products
- Previous Procore and JD Edwards or Oracle-based ERP system experience is an asset
