About Us

Play and Learn Daycare – Main Location is a warm and welcoming childcare center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children. We are currently seeking a full-time cook to join our team This position is perfect for someone who loves cooking and wants to make a positive impact in a child-centered environment. Educators looking to transition into a kitchen-based role are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve daily snacks and lunches for children ages 12 months to 5 years
  • Follow set menus and accommodate allergies or special dietary needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Track grocery inventory and assist with ordering supplies
  • Work collaboratively with educators and admin team

Qualifications

  • Passion for cooking and working in a childcare setting
  • Food Safe Certification (or willingness to obtain before start date)
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Experience in a childcare kitchen or commercial food setting is an asset, but not required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to $28.62 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
