Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, play areas, restrooms, kitchens, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment
• Conduct routine floor care including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met
• Maintain cleanliness of furniture, fixtures, windows, and surfaces to promote a healthy environment
• Restock supplies such as paper towels, soap dispensers, and cleaning materials as needed
• Follow established safety protocols during all cleaning procedures to prevent accidents or contamination
• Assist with light custodial tasks such as painting touch-ups or minor repairs in shared spaces when necessary
• Document cleaning activities and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to management

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial or residential cleaning with a focus on janitorial duties
• Strong knowledge of custodial practices including floor care techniques like buffing and stripping
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and supplies
• Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently
• Good communication skills for coordinating with staff regarding cleaning schedules or safety concerns
