Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM
Rate
: $60 - $70/hr Inc.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Systems Administrator to oversee and maintain our client's Microsoft Azure cloud environment, online assets, and on-premises network infrastructure while serving as a key customer-facing technical resource. This individual will act as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external clients for all matters related to cloud systems, network operations, and digital assets, ensuring reliability, security, and performance across the organization's IT landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Environment Management
- Administer, configure, and optimize Microsoft Azure resources including virtual machines, storage accounts, virtual networks, and security groups.
- Implement and monitor Azure Active Directory, identity and access management policies, and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Ensure proper backup, disaster recovery, and high availability configurations for Azure workloads.
- Monitor system performance and cost utilization, providing recommendations for optimization.
- Communicate Azure performance, planned changes, and incidents proactively to internal stakeholders and external customers.
Online Assets & Customer Support Management
- Maintain and secure all online assets, including web applications, domains, SSL certificates, DNS records, and SaaS platforms.
- Serve as the point of contact for third-party vendors or service providers hosting or supporting online services.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Provide timely, clinic-facing support for escalated technical issues related to online services.
- Work directly with clinics to understand their needs, troubleshoot incidents, and ensure smooth onboarding of new services.
Network Infrastructure Management
- Oversee on-premises and hybrid network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, and VPNs.
- Maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity, internet links, and wireless networks.
- Implement network monitoring and alerting systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Apply security best practices for network segmentation, access control, and threat mitigation.
- Translate complex network issues into clear, customer friendly updates during outages or changes.
Support, Collaboration & Customer Interaction
- Work closely with the IT team to support end-users, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate IT projects.
- Act as a technical liaison between internal IT and external vendors to ensure expectations and service levels are met.
- Provide documentation, training, and knowledge transfer to internal stakeholders and customer representatives as needed.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend upgrades or improvements to systems and infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience managing Microsoft Azure cloud environments and enterprise networks.
- Proven experience managing online assets and security.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Azure, including Azure AD, virtual networks, and resource management.
- Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform).
- Experience with Windows Server administration, Office 365, and endpoint security solutions.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers and help tailor or recommend solutions to their needs.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Clear communication skills for interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to handle customer inquiries professionally, empathetically, and efficiently.
Preferred Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104).
- CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA.
- Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, etc.) are an asset.
- Customer service or ITIL certification is a plus.
