IT Systems Administrator
How does the role impact the organization?
This role is instrumental in ensuring the stability and security of Raymond James Ltd.'s national IT infrastructure. As a technical steward and trusted collaborator, you will safeguard mission-critical systems, enable seamless business operations, and ensure that compliance and security standards are consistently upheld in support of our clients, advisors, and corporate objectives.

What is the position responsible for?
*Key Responsibilities*

  • Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure components including Windows Server, Azure, VMware, Nutanix, and related systems to ensure system stability and availability.
  • Assist in deploying and managing enterprise backup solutions (such as Veeam and Commvault) to meet recovery objectives and service level agreements.
  • Support automation efforts by developing and maintaining scripts (PowerShell or similar) to streamline routine administrative tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Help implement IT security controls, including patch management and vulnerability monitoring, to maintain compliance with security policies.
  • Participate in change management processes, documenting changes, securing approvals, and supporting audit requirements.
  • Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery activities, including regular testing and plan updates to ensure rapid recovery.
  • Collaborate with compliance teams and auditors by providing necessary documentation and information during audits.

Qualifications
To qualify for this opportunity, you possess:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in enterprise or mid-sized systems administration.
  • Experience with Active Directory, IIS, DNS, Tanium, and other core enterprise technologies.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management best practices.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as DataDog is a plus.
  • Strong scripting skills, preferably PowerShell, for automation.
  • Understanding of backup and recovery technologies and concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of security best practices, patching, and vulnerability management.

Licenses/Certifications (if applicable)

  • Microsoft, CompTIA, ISC2, HPE, Cisco UCS, Nutanix, Commvault, AWS or other related certifications are considered assets.

Salary Range: BC (based on Education, Work Experience, etc)
$65,000-95,000 in addition to competitive performance bonuses/incentives.
