Kincardine Ontario, Canada Doidge Building Centres Ltd. Full time $40,000 - $70,000 per year

Position Summary:

The Payroll Specialist collects, verifies and processes payroll information, determines pay and benefit entitlements for employees, and maintains accurate payroll records across all Doidge Building Centres Ltd. locations.

Location:
 This position is on-site at the RONA store in Kincardine, Ontario.

Duties and Responsibilities,
but not limited to:

  • Prepare, verify and process all employee payroll related payments in ADP Workforce Now, including regular pay, benefit payments, and special payments such as bonuses, commissions, and vacation pay
  • Prepare payroll-related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements, Records of Employment, and other required statements
  • Compile, review, and monitor statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits
  • Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Monitor and track time-off balances for employees in accordance with company policies
  • Complete, verify, and process forms and documentation related to the administration of benefits such as leaves, employment, and medical insurance
  • Support the recruitment process by drafting and posting job advertisements, screening applicants, coordinating interviews, and conducting phone interviews.
  • Track and maintain documentation for health and safety training including onboarding, first aid, and Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) certifications
  • Conduct exit interviews

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Payroll Administration.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification preferred.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exemplary listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills, able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills; experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software required.
  • Strong math skills; basic understanding of business and accounting principles required.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset.
