It includes preparing payroll, reviewing data for compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements, and performing reconciliations. The position involves regular interaction with employees and management to address payroll inquiries, audits, and reporting requests. As part of a collaborative team, the Payroll Specialist will contribute to process improvements and participate in assigned projects to enhance efficiency and compliance. What You’ll Do Day‑to‑Day Compile payroll data and statistics to maintain records and for the calculation of payroll. Accumulate and organize information to ensure that related payroll accounts are reported to all required governmental agencies. Prepare and create standard and ad‑hoc reports. Review and ensure accurate computation of pay and interpret company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures. Participate in internal and external audits. Answer employee questions pertaining to their pay advice. Process and audit routing full‑time and part‑time payrolls. Maintain records for audit and historical purposes. Process out‑of‑cycle payments, reversals and adjustments when required. What You'll Bring High School diploma or equivalent education with a minimum of 2 years of related experience (required). Experience with processing payroll for unionized workers and knowledge of EPSCA and CUSW collective agreements (asset). Experience with UKG payroll system (asset).
