NOW HIRING: Deli Chef/Kitchen Manager (Full time)

The Dirty Apron Delicatessen and Cooking school is looking for one exceptional candidate to join our team as Deli Chef/ Kitchen Manager. This role is ideal fora culinary professional who thrives in production-focused kitchens, values consistency and organization, and leads with confidence and professionalism.

Position Details:

  • Location: 540 Beatty St, Vancouver
  • Start Date: Immediate- training to begin as soon as possible
  • Contract Length: 1.5 years (Maternity Leave Coverage)
  • Salary: 65,000/Year
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 6:30am - 2:30 pm hours/week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day deli and kitchen operations
  • Lead, train, schedule and support back of house staff
  • Maintain consistent production of all deli items, prepared foods and specials
  • Manage inventory, ordering, waste control, and cost efficiencies
  • Uphold food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
  • Coordinate with front of house and management for smooth daily service
  • Develop or assist with menu items, specials and seasonal offerings
  • Maintain a clean, organized and efficient kitchen environment
  • Support team moral and contribute to a positive work culture

Candidate Criteria:

  • Minimum 2-3 Years experience as a Sous Chef, Head Chef
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • High level of organization and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Reliable, punctual, and consistent work ethic
  • Knowledge of food costing, ordering systems, and production planning
  • Food Safety Certificate an asset

About us: The Dirty Apron Cooking School & Delicatessen has been a hub in the lower mainland's food scene for almost 15 years with many avenues in the business. From feeding customers in the deli with award-winning sandwiches, seasonal salads, soups & specials.. to our grocery line of freezer meals that have also made it into many local stores (30+) across BC. Our newest endeavor is our 2 locations at YVR Airport. Best known for our recreational cooking classes, our cooking school teaches new and exciting dishes to over 10,000 foodies each year in our incredibly fun and educational teaching style..
