Adult Literacy Fredericton is seeking a dedicated and organized professional to play a key role in our organization. We are a small nonprofit, and this part-time position serves as our sole staff role.

Your efforts will directly contribute to improving literacy outcomes for adult learners. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall management of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership and operational management of programs and volunteers
  • Recruit and support volunteer tutors, recruit and assess adult learners and match them with a suitable tutor
  • Manage grants, fundraising initiatives, and donor relations
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, funders, and stakeholders
  • Promote adult literacy and represent the organization in the community
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on program activities, outcomes, and operations

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education in social sciences, education, nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft office, social media, etc)
  • A motivated, professional, and collaborative approach to your work
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Previous experience with a nonprofit and/or working with volunteers is desirable.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment
  • Relevant work experience would be considered an asset
