Maintenance Technician

Clearwater Seafoods' Grand Bank Plant requires a Maintenance Technician / Electrician. The position is a Full Time Permanent position and will be located in Grand Bank.

Purpose of Position:

Assist in all aspects of the day-to-day maintenance and preventive maintenance operations at Grand Bank Seafoods.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports to: Maintenance Manager

Duties & Accountabilities:

• Production setup, startup and monitoring to ensure all production equipment is operating as per specified parameters.
• Daily inspection of all production equipment to identify potential issues and opportunities to make improvements.
• Complete repairs, calibrations and adjustments to equipment as required.
• Complete electrical repairs/upgrades on all facility electrical components as required.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on all production equipment to reduce downtime.
• Communicate with and support production operators and quality technicians to ensure equipment is running at specified parameters and finished product meets quality specifications.
• Maintain inventory of parts/supplies for all equipment and order parts as required.
• Complete all related maintenance forms.
• Complete all assigned work orders in a timely manner.

Working Conditions:

• This can be a high-stress position. Most of the time is spent on the plant production floor, which can prove to be cool & damp.
• This a shift work position, which includes day and night shifts and occasional weekends.

Qualifications:

• Red Seal Industrial Electrician or equivalent experience will be required.
• Sound mechanical aptitude and previous maintenance experience with similar production equipment will be considered an asset.
• Previous experience working on Ammonia plant equipment.
• Previous experience with controls and instrumentation.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the team (written and verbal).
• Ability to work various shifts, weekends and ability to work extra hours or be available for after hour call-ins as required.
