Senior Manager, National Health and Safety

HelloFresh Canada is looking for an experienced National Health & Safety Sr. Manager to develop, lead, and manage workplace safety initiatives in all our Distribution Centers. Reporting to the Director of National Production, the National Health & Safety Manager will develop HelloFresh's national health and safety program, collaborate with site and global stakeholders to inspire change, raise the bar on workplace safety, and champion a safety-first culture Ability to travel and a flexible schedule is required.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of H&S Specialists and partner with Site Leadership across multiple locations to ensure compliance with OHS and related safety standards, identify and manage risks, and build a national safety program and culture
- Collaborate with global and local stakeholders to define best practices, opportunities, and process gaps; and align local stakeholders to develop and implement the processes; communicate best practices and learning across the organization
- Ensure appropriate methodologies, tools, and approach are used to drive safety improvements; continue to advocate for future workplace safety improvements by partnering with and challenging the business and leadership
- Lead risk identification and risk-mitigating planning; organize project post-mortems with all partners and identify critical areas for process improvements
- Influence a large team of indirect reports including associates, managers, and leaders across HelloFresh; Collaborate with global stakeholders to share best practices and deliver global initiatives
- Define, build and set up targets and reporting of safety metrics across all sites
- Establish Occupational Health and Safety procedures and policies in the workplace as set out by the Regional OHS and Health Services
- Lead the development of and manage GMP and Safety trainings and records
- Collaborate with site stakeholders to define, stock and manage safety consumables (e.g. ppe)
Requirements:
- Completed post-secondary in (EHS) Environmental Health and Safety, or related field or equivalent work experience in an OSHA background.
- 5-10 years of work experience required in Health and Safety
- Demonstrated experience in providing high quality customer experience, building a safety culture, communicating to get team member buy-in
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to perform administrative tasks with high degree of accuracy
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), including active listening and proofreading
- Ability to perform at a high level in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
- Ability to demonstrate good, sound judgment
- Availability to work weekend schedules and in temperature controlled (it's food, so it's cold) facilities
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Sheets), and video conferencing (Hangouts Meet)
