Are you a seasoned Health & Safety professional who thrives in the field and leads with influence? This Calgary-based HSE Manager role offers autonomy, impact, and the chance to shape safety culture across operations. With no direct reports but high visibility, you'll collaborate with frontline teams and leadership to drive compliance, training, and continuous improvement.

  • Competitive base salary: $118,000–$135,000 plus 15% annual bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HSE policies aligned with operational goals
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and lead incident investigations
  • Deliver safety training and prepare compliance reports
  • Collaborate with management on regulatory mandates and case management
  • Monitor and ensure regulatory compliance across sites
  • Promote behavioral safety and cultural change initiatives
  • Represent the company in industry associations and committees
  • Maintain strong field presence and consultative relationships with stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive HSE experience in construction or oil & gas
  • Bachelor's degree in Health & Safety or equivalent experience
  • NCSO designation and ACSA Auditor certification (or ability to obtain within 1 year)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with field engagement focus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, mostly day trips with occasional overnights
  • Ability to manage claims and WCB-related processes
  • Comfortable working independently and influencing diverse personalities
