Manager Inventory

Purpose
The Manager, Inventory Control is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of inventory management within a designated region or market. This role oversees inventory planning, forecasting, and execution, ensuring the availability of products to meet customer demand while minimizing inventory costs and maximizing profitability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and reduce inventory holding costs.
- Oversee inventory planning, forecasting, and demand planning processes, including analyzing historical data, identifying trends, and forecasting future demand.
- Monitor key inventory performance indicators (KPIs) such as inventory turns, fill rates, and days of supply.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of Inventory Control personnel, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, optimize inventory flow, and reduce inventory-related costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Purchasing) to improve inventory management processes.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, identify areas for improvement, and generate reports for management.
- Utilize data analytics tools to improve forecasting accuracy and optimize inventory decisions.

Skills
- Data Analysis: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, SQL).
- Leadership & Management: Strong leadership and mentorship skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and develop a high-performing team.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in related discipline or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
Experience
7+ years of experience, of which at least 2 leading a team
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear.
- The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
