The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the intake, organization, tracking, and presentation of all vehicle inventory across the dealership. This role ensures that all vehicles are properly documented, photographed, merchandised, and ready for sale. The Inventory Manager works closely with the service, sales, and marketing teams to ensure inventory accuracy, timely reconditioning, and optimal lot presentation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the intake and inspection of all incoming vehicles (retail, wholesale, trade-ins).
  • Ensure all vehicles are accurately entered into the DMS and inventory management systems.
  • Coordinate with the service department to prioritize reconditioning and ensure vehicles are frontline ready.
  • Photograph and upload high-quality images of vehicles for online listings.
  • Maintain lot organization and ensure vehicles are clean, properly parked, and visually appealing.
  • Monitor inventory levels and aging reports; recommend transfers or promotions to optimize turnover.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure timely and accurate posting of ads on platforms like Kijiji, Cargurus and other marketing platforms and the company website.
  • Track and report on inventory KPIs including days to market, reconditioning time, and lot aging.
  • Assist in quarterly inventory audits and ensure reconciliation with accounting records.
  • Liaise with the sales team and service department to ensure vehicle availability aligns with customer demand and sales goals.
  • Support vehicle transfers between branches and coordinate logistics as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle intake, reconditioning, and merchandising processes.
  • Proficiency in DMS platforms, inventory software, and Office 365.
  • Familiarity with Drive Sync, and online vehicle listing platforms.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate and move vehicles safely and efficiently.
