Role Overview

Reporting to the Student Services Manager, Student Services is responsible for enhancing the student experience by providing personalized support and guidance aligned with students' academic and career goals. This position combines administrative responsibilities with direct student engagement and requires strong interpersonal and organization skills.

Student Services collaborates with various departments across the college to support practicum placements and student development initiatives. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive and supportive learning environment, in alignment with the college's core values.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as a positive and professional representative of AOLCC.
  • Educate students on the importance and details of Student Loan Repayment.
  • Monitor students' progress and academic behavior, proactively intervening as needed through counseling, coaching, and action planning.
  • Build and maintain positive community relationships to increase awareness of employers for graduates and attract potential new students.
  • Ensure daily reporting of student attendance and progress from facilitators and instructors.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed student records, including FOIP/PIPEDA compliance, funding sources, program details, withdrawals, funding freezes, absences, employment opportunities, and all communications.
  • Provide timely information and reporting to management as requested.
  • Record and analyze KPI data monthly, identifying areas for continuous improvement.
  • Coach and instruct students on resume writing, job search strategies, and interview skills.
  • Participate in college events such as student appreciation activities, orientations, open houses, graduations, trade shows, and other events as required.

  • Coaching & Career Development: Guides students in resume writing, job search strategies, and interview preparation.
  • Adaptability & Initiative: Flexible in responding to changing priorities and proactive in taking action when needed.
Qualifications
  • Education: University/college courses are an asset.
  • Experience: Three years' experience in counseling, educating, or supporting adults is an asset.
  • Proficient with technology (Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Highly proficient communication skills (written and verbal)

Pay: $45,000.00 per year
