Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a keen eye for detail. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, handling transactions accurately, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. Your role will also involve assisting with merchandising and stocking duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
  • Handle cash transactions and ensure accurate cash handling practices.
  • Assist with product demonstrations to enhance customer engagement and sales.
  • Upsell products when appropriate to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and merchandise displays.
  • Stock shelves and assist in merchandising efforts to promote products effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when answering customer inquiries via phone.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred.
  • Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as it enhances customer interaction.
  • Supervising experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
  • Familiarity with grocery store operations is advantageous.
