Job Overview

We are family owned business here in the Mountain View County of Alberta seeking a skilled (Red Seal) Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be (Semi Retired) and have extensive experience in the repair and maintenance of Heavy Machinery, including Excavators, Loaders, Skid Steer, and Trucking equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Duties

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy equipment such as excavators, Tractor, Trailers, Skid Steer and Loaders.
  • Perform routine maintenance on industrial equipment and heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical components.
  • Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems.
  • Use hand tools and power tools for assembly and disassembly of equipment parts.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with ownership regarding their equipment needs.
  • Ordering parts as necessary to complete repairs or modifications.
  • Perform some heavy lifting as required during the repair process.
  • Being organized and clean

Experience

  • Previous experience as a (Red Seal) mechanic role with a focus on heavy equipment is essential.
  • Familiarity with some automotive diagnostics and vehicle maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and soldering techniques is advantageous.
  • Experience with tire service, welding, and general fabrication is a plus.
  • Ability to operate various types of heavy machinery safely and effectively.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in assembly, repair, and maintenance tasks.
