Arctech Manufacture Ltd., a leading manufacturer and installer of architectural metal and glass railing systems across British Columbia, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to support our growing portfolio of commercial high-rise and multi-residential projects. With major developments underway across the Lower Mainland, we are expanding our team to meet strong project demand.

About the Role

The Senior Estimator will take responsibility for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive cost estimates for aluminum railings, glass railings, guardrails, handrails, dividers, custom fabrications, and related components for commercial apartment buildings, mixed-use developments, and high-rise towers.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of railing systems, installation methods, BC building codes, and high-rise construction logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review architectural drawings, structural details, specifications, and tender documents for commercial and high-rise projects.
  • Prepare detailed take-offs for metal and glass railing systems, including posts, panels, caps, anchors, hardware, and specialty components.
  • Develop accurate labour, material, and production estimates based on project scope and site conditions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and installation teams to ensure feasibility and alignment of estimates.
  • Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Identify potential design challenges, installation constraints, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare formal bid proposals and support tender submissions for developers, general contractors, and construction managers.
  • Maintain estimating templates, costing databases, and historical project records.
  • Participate in project handoffs to ensure smooth transition from estimating to operations.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience as an estimator in railing fabrication, glazing, metalwork, or related construction disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of metal and glass railing systems, guardrail design, and BC building code requirements.
  • Experience estimating high-rise and multi-residential construction projects.
  • Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings with precision.
  • Proficiency with estimation software (Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines with high attention to detail.
