- **Northwest Sheet Metal**_ is a family business coming up to it's 18th year, we are a premier SMACNA Contractor that employs over 100 performing ventilation systems throughout BC, we have many employees that are 10 years plus with us, there are some that started from the pre-apprentice position and now are foreman We perform all aspects of ventilation, like working at YVR, many hospitals, those high rises you see, BC Place stadium, SFU, UBC etc.. This company promotes itself on being a leader in our industry while still having that family feeling

Northwest Sheet Metal is looking for a very experienced Estimator that is well rounded in the **sheet metal ventilation trade.** We are only looking for a person with experience and have knowledge **in our trade**, all others will not be entertained.

Please do not waste our time if you do not have trade knowledge.

**Job Description and responsibilities**
- Prepare accurate scopes of work and estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics.
- Manage project financial performance based on an accepted contract
- Work with sales team to estimate project costs and provide customer estimates
- Estimate changes and review final reports to ensure accuracy and make adjustments where necessary
- Review the project at completion with the superintendent to discuss successes and challenges
- Utilize your working knowledge of cost and benefit that support profitable business decisions
- Utilize your excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset
- Understand the project/program and its requirements
- Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
- Conduct research to obtain data on labour costs, materials, production times etc.
- Maintain good relationship with suppliers, follow trends, materials, and products
- Create, and provide detailed reports
- Build relationships with key contractors, suppliers, engineers etc.
- Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgeting.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- A Project Management diploma/certificate is preferred, but other training/experience combinations will be considered
- 2+ years experience in industrial/institutional, commercial and residential projects
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Good computer skills, including MS Office and project management software
- Familiarity with financial and project management principles
- Must communicate fluently (both verbally and in writing) and efficiently with employees, suppliers and clients.
- Reliable and able to work independently in a busy environment
- Experience with routine maintenance operations
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
- Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs and systems
- Strong negotiation and prioritization skills
