About The Opportunity
Our client, a well-established mid-sized accounting firm located in the East end of Ottawa, is seeking an Accountant to join their team. This firm provides a full range of accounting, tax, assurance, and financial advisory services to small and mid-sized private corporations, not-for-profits, charities, estates, and trusts.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform full cycle accounting, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile GST/HST and sales tax; prepare government remittances
  • Process payroll and complete related reconciliations
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and financial reports
  • Record capital asset transactions (purchases, dispositions)
  • Liaise with and train clients on bookkeeping and accounting practices
  • Prepare T4, T5, T5018, WSIB, and similar forms
  • Perform light administrative duties and maintain organized client files
  • Use of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Simply, Adagio, SAP, CaseWare, Excel, and Word

About You
The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Simply, Adagio, etc.)
