About The Opportunity
Our growing client in Ottawa West is looking for a progressive Director of Finance to join their fast-paced, dynamic organization on a full-time, permanent basis.

This opportunity joins an organization that offers professional growth and development while being a key player in a collaborative, supportive team.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee Accounting team to ensure accuracy and submissions in a timely manner, providing support as needed
  • Provide mentorship and development for Accounting team through thoughtful evaluation
  • Production of financial statements
  • Coordination and preparation of budget and financial forecasts
  • Preparing Month and Year End close for appropriate department
  • Financial Analysis, Risk Analysis, reporting, ad hoc analysis as needed
  • Institute and maintain internal controls as well as streamlining policies & procedures, compliance
  • Liaising with external auditors
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders and presenting financial reports
  • Communicate with Senior Management on all Finance-related strategies, including developing long-term growth models

About You
The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Active CPA Designation in good standing
  • 7+ years of recent experience within a similar role for a medium-to-large organization- Construction industry a strong asset
  • 3+ years of leadership of an accounting team
  • Strong oral, written, and communication skills in English
  • Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-starter, collaborative- able to work with all levels of staff
