Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Parker Huggett - A Division of LRO Staffing Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Director of Construction - Permanent - 3083

About the Opportunity

You're a proven construction leader, someone who thrives on building great teams, guiding complex projects, and shaping a company's reputation through the quality of its delivery. This is your opportunity to take that next step as Director of Construction for the Ottawa Region, leading a busy and growing ICI portfolio from preconstruction through turnover.

As Director of Construction, you'll be the senior operational lead for all Ottawa-area projects; institutional, commercial, and industrial. You'll oversee pursuit strategies, budgeting, schedules, constructability reviews, and field execution while driving collaboration across project managers, superintendents, clients, and consultants.

You'll also represent your company in the region, expanding its footprint, deepening client relationships, and mentoring the next generation of project leaders.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in Kanata, Ontario, offering a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and a robust retirement savings program.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead Ottawa-region preconstruction efforts, from pursuits and budgets to constructability and risk analysis
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects to ensure contract compliance, quality, schedule, and financial performance
  • Build and develop a strong team of Project Managers, Coordinators, and Site Superintendents
  • Strengthen regional trade, consultant, and client relationships, representing the company at industry forums and associations
  • Drive excellence in cost control, safety, QA/QC, and project delivery standards
  • Champion consistent use of company tools, systems, and best practices across the portfolio

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • A seasoned construction executive with 15+ years of progressive ICI experience, including leadership of large multi-project portfolios
  • Known for your ability to lead people, solve problems, and make sound commercial and technical decisions
  • Fluent in all facets of project delivery: scheduling, constructability, contracts, claims, and change management
  • Recognized as a trusted partner by clients, trades, and consultants across Ottawa's construction market
  • Credentialed in Civil Engineering or Building Science (P.Eng., CET, or equivalent is an asset)
  • A driver of culture and accountability who sets high standards and delivers results

About the Job
