Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for creating top quality designs for high end residential customers. You will require knowledge of materials used in fabrication matched to inspiring designs. You must be able to link design to finance and function from architectural and interior design drawings for submittal and eventually construction. Excellent first-person client interaction is required, as you are the face of the company to these clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Interpret architectural and interior design drawings to create 2D and 3D construction drawings.
· Conceptualize, design and develop 2D and 3D models incorporating all phases of a project, from pre-design to execution.
· Assign proper materials to products with attention to thickness, board sizes and grain/pattern directions.
· Identify potential design limitations and/or effects of same on architectural designs.
· Prepare approval drawings to support the project team.
· Communicate project status updates - adjust activities as needed to meet project timelines.
· Prepare production information (i.e. drawings, cut lists, etc) providing the necessary information for programming, machining and assembly operations.
· Participate in meetings with the production team
Skills Required:
· Competent knowledge in both the production & manufacturing methodologies of joinery and millwork design
· Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
· Reading and interpreting architectural drawings
· Have a familiarity with multiple material types used in manufacturing custom cabinetry and their specifications, sizes and availability.
· Proficiency with Mozaik software is a bonus.
· Must have proven skills in the development of floor plans, elevations and all necessary sections and details.
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
· Willing to work when required to meet deadlines
· Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
