TPH Law is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Licensed Paralegal to join our Small Claims Court department. The ideal candidate is a Licensed Paralegal in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario who has experience in Small Claims Court matters, preferably with a focus on debt recovery or creditors' rights, If you thrive on tight deadlines, detailed drafting, and real teamwork, let's talk.

What you'll do

  • Draft, file, and serve legal documents including claims, defences, motions, and settlement offers for matters in Ontario Small Claims Court.
  • Draft claims and related legal documents for out-of-province actions, in coordination with local counsel or agents, while remaining on record in Ontario.
  • Attend court hearings, settlement conferences, and trials on behalf of clients in Ontario Small Claims Court.
  • Manage and maintain case files, ensuring all deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
  • Liaise with clients, opposing parties, courts, and other stakeholders with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies and provide clients with informed updates.
  • Ensure compliance with Law Society of Ontario regulations and maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Assist with the recovery of outstanding debts, including negotiating payment arrangements and settlements where appropriate.
  • Prepare reports and updates for supervising lawyers and clients as required.
