Bookkeeper - Part Time

Experienced Part-time full cycle contract bookkeeper needed for a real estate operating company located in Kelowna, B.C.. 1 day per week. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring the integrity of our accounting data. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles. Prior experience with payroll processing and account reconciliation is required.

-Minimum of 5 years of full cycle bookkeeping experience
-Extensive knowledge of Sage 50
-Exceptional computer literacy with extensive experience working with MS Excel, MS Outlook
-Extensive knowledge of of trial balances, payroll, general ledger databases, reconciliation, financial statement close processes and accounting processes
-Fluent with the English language
-Minimum high school graduation
-Certificate or diploma in business accounting is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks using Sage 50
-Record financial transactions accurately, including accounts payable and accounts receivable entries
-Perform bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and ledger entries
-Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data
-Prepare and process payroll in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations
-Month-end and year-end closing procedures
-Maintain organized financial records for audit readiness
-Support budgeting processes by providing relevant financial data and analysis
-Invoicing customers, posting receipts and deposits
-Monitor customer accounts for non-payment/delayed payment
-Collection of accounts
-Accounts payable including verifying and paying invoices
-Processing payroll and monthly expense reports through EFT
-Ensure all payments are made on time
-Verify and remit GST and payroll deductions to Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
-Complete Records of Employment
-Process CRA year-end forms including T4s
-Prepare budget forecasting reports in Excel
-Prepare property operating statements in Excel
-Prepare annual common area maintenance reconciliations
-Perform filing and general administrative tasks
-Special projects and tasks
