Greens and Dreams is a boutique private chef service run by Chef Olivia Cumming dedicated to providing high-quality, personalised culinary experiences for a diverse range of individuals and families. We specialise in catering to clients with specific dietary requirements, ensuring that every meal is as health-conscious and nutritious as it is delicious.

The Role

We are looking for a professional, reliable, and skilled Private Chef to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for a chef who enjoys a variety of home kitchen environments and thrives on providing a high level of service. You will be responsible for executing menus created by Chef Olivia, occasionally managing grocery procurement, and ensuring a seamless, high-end experience in the clients' homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meal Preparation: Execute pre-planned menus with precision, focusing on quality, flavour, and packaged with reheating in mind.
  • Specialty Diets: Prepare meals that adhere to strict dietary needs (e.g., GF, DF, Keto, Vegan, Autoimmune Protocol, etc.) as specified in the client brief.
  • Client Interaction: Maintain a professional, polite, and discreet presence while working within private residences.
  • Procurement: Depending on the client's needs, you may be responsible for grocery shopping and ingredient sourcing.
  • Kitchen Management: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organisation; leave the client's kitchen in pristine condition after service.

Requirements

  • Professionalism: Must present yourself well and be comfortable interacting with high-level clients in a private home setting.
  • Culinary Skill: Culinary School Degree preferred.
  • Dietary Knowledge: A solid understanding of—and comfort with—working with specialty diets and allergens.
  • Transportation: Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle or a guaranteed method of transportation to various client locations.
  • Flexibility: As this is a part-time role, hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on client demand.
  • Background Check: Must be willing to submit to a background check

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Food Handler Certification.
  • General Liability Insurance.
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills.

Important Note on Employment Status

This is an Independent Contractor position. The successful candidate will be responsible for their own tax remittances, CPP, and insurance. This role offers flexible, non-guaranteed hours based on client demand, making it ideal for culinary students or freelance chefs looking to supplement their existing schedule.
