Maeven Chef is an in-home personal chef service offering weekly meal prep and dinner parties. Maeven Chef has achieved rapid success over the past year with many exciting opportunities. Our weekly meal prep services now have a waiting list, and we are ready to expand. **About the job** Maeven Chef is looking for a Lead Personal Chef; someone who is a confident cook and team leader and comfortable with client communication. We have two streams of business; our weekly meal prep service and our "dinner parties" events catering. The successful applicant is Someone who is ready to leave the high stress environment of restaurants behind and have the chance to work independently in clients’ homes to create outstanding meals. The Lead Personal Chef will be a seasoned chef with great problem solving and communication skills who can assist the Founder with logistics and operations. This role is very unique in the industry as it is self-directed, flexible with scheduling, and can be specialized to the Chef’s interests. **What's in it for you?** - The chance to work directly with clients on dynamic menus, tailored to their needs - The opportunity to use the various cooking styles and cuisines you have learned so far in your career (and try out new dishes and expand your repertoire) - Self-directed and autonomous working environments - Flexible schedule that can fit your lifestyle - $60,000/year salary with vehicle allowance and R&D dining allowance **Requirements**: - 5+ years of professional culinary experience - Valid driver's license and operational vehicle; the job requires the chef to drive to the client's house and grocery store and allows for a monthly $200 vehicle allowance - Knife set & other necessary chef's tools - Expertise in multiple cuisines - Experience accommodating allergies and diets - Experience in multiple culinary environments, i.e. catering, restaurant, private chef, events - Ability to work alone - Ability to follow explicit recipe instructions - Ability to work under pressure - Ability to lift heavy food items and culinary equipment when necessary (50lbs) - Impeccable professional presentation - Ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing - Must be willing to undergo a police check if required due to work in clients' homes **Nice to have**: - Experience working with high net-worth individuals - Experience with wine and other beverage pairings - Ability to serve and bartend at events (Smartserve) - Open availability **Salary**: $60,000.00 per year **Benefits**: - Automobile allowance - Flexible schedule Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Day shift - Evening shift - Monday to Friday - Weekends as needed Supplemental pay types: - Tips Ability to commute/relocate: - Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) **Experience**: - Cooking: 4 years (preferred) Licence/Certification: - Driver's licence and working vehicle (required) Work Location: In person
