What you'll be doing
As a member of CIBC's team, the Director, RESL (real estate secured lending) Product Management, Regulatory Programs will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives related to RESL policy on a range of business product lines, with a focus on policy development, design and maintenance for RESL products. You'll exercise a high degree of independent judgement, providing leadership for business consulting, information architecture activities and deliverables for a team delivering projects. In addition to policy development, you'll contribute to broader product management initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, our risk appetite, business objectives and client needs. As a Director, you'll develop and maintain internal relationships across the organization, both within and outside of technology, risk and distribution channels - including negotiating and influencing opinions. In addition, you'll provide sophisticated analysis of complex business information and make comprehensive recommendations to management including executives and business leaders. You'll drive innovation across areas of responsibility, apply expert interpersonal, communication, planning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

How you'll succeed
Strategy and planning – Contribute to long-term strategy for the business in collaboration with the Senior Director and other business create competitive strategies. leaders. Perform in-depth analysis to identify opportunities, develop strategic proposals and Target the product offering with the objective of increasing business revenue, competitiveness, growing market share and reducing operational costs. Collaborate with internal partners to oversee, communicate, and align business plans and ensure delivery on strategy and plans. An important component of this responsibility will include developing and maintaining policies for RESL products to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with business goals.
Product development - Lead and provide direction to product team members. Oversee development options and proposals related to development or enhancement of specific products or services, assessing the impact, effectiveness and feasibility of proposed changes, and making authoritative recommendations. You will be responsible for the overall design, development and implementation of new products and product plans. This includes accountability for the planning and delivery of enhancements and fixes specific to client-facing applications. Contribute to the creation of business cases for new policy initiatives and enhancements.
People management - Lead, motivate and coach on an on-going basis. Identify gaps and remove obstacles to performance, develop action plans to align with business priorities. Create a positive work environment and role model by championing CIBC's mission, vision and values. Comply with policies, standards, guidelines and controls by applying the policies and controls fairly and consistently so employees understand what to expect. Hire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.
Who you are
You can demonstrate extensive experience in product management, strategic planning, and project management sufficient to identify, develop, and implement approved initiatives (experience preferably in financial services). You have strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and presentation skills sufficient to prepare and present material to an executive audience. Experience in policy development for RESL or similar financial products is highly desirable.
