PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Are you ready to shape the future of rail transportation? Lead a skilled team that works on track construction projects, while driving safety, service, and productivity. Railway experience is preferred but 5+ years in thermite or flash butt welding is also ideal. A solid understanding of collective bargaining agreements (CBA) is essential for managing workflows effectively, and candidates with experience in construction or manufacturing management are encouraged to apply.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Mentor an average of 45 direct reports to improve their efficiency and holding accountability when needed
- Review planned capital work, confirms material, and execution requirements
- Ensure CPKC regulatory compliance for respective track projects
- Develop and implement work processes and changes with your team that achieve continuous improvement
- Promote and ensure adherence to CPKC policies, safety practices, and procedures across all team members and direct reports, fostering a culture of safety and accountability
- Evaluate planned capital work, validate material readiness, and confirm execution strategies to ensure seamless project delivery and alignment with organizational objectives
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or general equivalency
- Valid driver's license
- Minimum 2 yeras' track experience
- 100% travel (expenses are covered by CPKC), currently on an 7 on, 7 off schedule with a territory that covers Thunder Bay to Mactier and ending in Sudbury
- Capability to lead a project plan/schedule
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire teams to achieve goals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Medical and Drug Testing
This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
