Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Referral Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will manage referral processes efficiently, ensuring seamless communication between patients, providers, and insurance companies. This role requires a strong understanding of managed care, medical office procedures, and CPSA/AHS compliance to support high-quality patient care and operational excellence.

Duties

  • Coordinate and process patient referrals in accordance with managed care policies and insurance requirements
  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including insurance verification procedures
  • Maintain accurate medical records, including documentation of referrals,
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies to facilitate timely referrals
  • Ensure compliance with CPSA/AHS regulations when handling sensitive medical information
  • Assist with medical office tasks such as appointment scheduling and updating patient information
  • Review and interpret medical terminology related to referrals and coding procedures
  • Manage medical records requests and ensure proper documentation for billing and record-keeping purposes
  • Support the billing department with accurate coding for insurance claims when necessary

Experience

  • Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of managed care processes, medical terminology, and medical records management is essential
  • Experience with CPSA/AHS coding
  • Familiarity with CPSA/AHS regulations and confidentiality standards is required
  • Office experience involving insurance verification or referral management will be considered an asset
  • Familiar with Accuro EMR
