Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounting Clerk located in Edmonton, AB.

Serves as the primary back-up for all clerk level positions in the department (AP and AR)

Must have a working knowledge of the Accounts Payable and Receivable Processes

Perform collections tasks (contacting past due customer, sending out monthly statements, etc.)

Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records

Reconciles bank statements

Reconciles balance sheet accounts

Works closely with Controller to maintain accounting database

Enter GL entries into the accounting system

Perform tasks related to the month end close process

Reviews and enters all Trade Discounts and Credit Memos

Compile data in Excel and prepare a variety of reports

Assists the Accounting Team as needed

Special Projects as directed by Controller

Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately in accordance with company policy

Qualifications

Minimum 2-year college degree in accounting or equivalent college credits required

2+ years of Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience

Must have a strong work ethic

Well organized and self-starter

Must be able to follow standard filing procedures

Detail oriented, professional attitude

Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

Strong problem-solving skills

Communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Ability to work independently and with a team
