Job Overview

Senior Generalist

Ability to create high-end photorealistic creatures

Advanced knowledge of creating high-end cartoon characters

  • Serve as a bridge between the Supervisor/Production team and artists

  • Comprehend feedback and reply to review notes with little Supervisor direction,

  • Use your experience in decision-making, managing tasks, and developing other artists

  • Help develop solutions and techniques that meet supervisors aesthetic/technical direction

  • Organize and create complex creatures and environments,

  • Create high quality creatures and environments within a show using a variety of software programs, and working under the Supervisor's guidance

  • Help guide and mentor artists while assisting them with their tasks

  • Meet milestones within a timeline, attend dailies and participate in creative problem solving

  • Create basic lighting setups and complex shaders that look convincing and render efficiently

  • Groom experience in Houdini required

Education / Experience:

  • 4 years relevant professional experience. BA (or equivalent experience) in computer graphics, fine arts, design, photography or related field.

  • Extensive experience in CG environment/character creation, and experience in partnering with other disciplines in the pipeline

Required Skills/ Competencies:

  • Proven ability in multiple CG techniques, including modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, look development, grooming and compositing

  • High level of problem solving and creative thinking skills

  • Meticulous in all aspects of the CG process to ensure a high quality outcome

  • Good organizational and communication skills

Technical Skills / Competencies:

  • Fluent in Painter and Mari

  • Fluent in Maya and Houdini

  • Fluent in Zbrush

  • Working knowledge of Nuke

  • Good working knowledge of specialist tools and plugins like Forestpack, Speedtree, etc.

  • Technical comprehension of pipelines

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new software

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $83,200.00 per year

  • CG environment/character creation: 5 years (required)
