POSITION SUMMARY:
Here at PolyTEC we are a high precision specialized Machine Shop dedicated to building the best performing Injection Molds for Thinwall Molding applications. Reporting to the General Manager, the Manufacturing Co-Op position will complete a rotation through the Shop by spending time learning about all of the operations that go into building a complete mold. This will give real-world hands-on experience working in a Professional Manufacturing Environment.

Location: 100 Gibson Dr., Markham, ON

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:

  • The successful candidate will spend the majority of time at the beginning of their term in the assembly department to give them an understanding of the following:

  • Reading Engineering drawings.

  • Understanding how the Mold components are assembled.
  • Critical surfaces and dimensions.

  • Use of hand tools for deburring or assembling stacks.

  • They will also be introduced to and spend time learning and interacting in the following areas of the Shop:

  • Plate Machining/Jib Boring

  • Turning/Lathe
  • Milling/5-Axis CNC
  • Grinding Cylindrical and Surface
  • CNC Programming (MasterCAM)

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Currently Enrolled in a Technical Post-Secondary education.
  • Machine Shop experience considered an asset.
