**About the Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation at Humber**:
The Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation is a new facility built to inspire innovation through collaboration and is part of Humber’s Centre of Innovation network. We bring together industry, students and faculty to solve real world challenges and promote science, technology, engineering, art and math outreach with industry and community partners. We work closely with all faculties across Humber to provide the resources they require to complete capstone, applied research projects, experiential Learning activities and support skills development. We are supported by Humber’s Advanced Manufacturing Skills Consortium: some of the leading technology and innovation companies in Canada. **About the Role**:
The Barrett Centre for Innovation and Technology (BCIT) is seeking a visionary, energetic, and impact-driven STEAM Academy Manager to lead and evolve our flagship STEAM Academy. This leadership role offers the rare opportunity to shape transformative, interdisciplinary learning experiences that merge Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics in a hands-on, future-focused environment.
- Lead the overall vision, development, and daily operations of the STEAM Academy.
- Translate strategic goals into scalable, high-impact STEAM learning programs
- Design and manage a diverse portfolio of interdisciplinary programs (workshops, camps, year-round academies, school partnerships) that integrate hands-on learning with emerging technologies (e.g., AI, robotics, AR/VR, green tech, coding).
- Curate and launch real-world, project-based learning challenges that engage learners in critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
- Recruit, train, and supervise a team of educators, facilitators, and technical staff.
- Facilitate internal professional development in STEAM pedagogy, maker tools, and design thinking.
- Build and sustain partnerships with schools, industry leaders, higher education institutions, and community organizations.
- Develop joint initiatives that expand access to STEAM learning for underrepresented and underserved communities
- Oversee the operation and development of BCIT’s innovation labs and makerspaces, ensuring they are safe, well-equipped, and creatively utilized.
- Evaluate and procure new tools, technologies, and materials that enhance learning.
- Manage program budgets, schedules, and reporting for stakeholders and funders
- Develop and implement systems for measuring program success, learner outcomes, and long-term impact.

**Education**
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEAM-related field (e.g., Engineering, Education, Computer Science, Business, Design, Environmental Science)
- Preferred qualifications include a Project Management Certification (PMP, Agile).

**Experience/Skills**
- 5+ years of experience in program management, educational leadership, or innovation-driven learning environments.
- Demonstrated experience designing and managing experiential or project-based learning programs.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong and long-term relationships with individuals, academic institutions, and corporations
- Knowledge and experience with promotion, events, and outreach
- Experience and understanding of all aspects of STEAM workshop and curriculum delivery
- Focus on communications, finance, HR, and research
- Hands-on experience supporting curriculum development and program delivery
- Comfortable working with different stakeholders and focus on goals, and objectives
- STEAM experience in an educational setting considered an asset
