What You'll Do

You'll report to the National Human Resources Manager, and your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering day-to-day HR services, policy guidance, and employee support
  • Coordinating full-cycle recruitment: job postings, screenings, interviews, offers
  • Leading onboarding and orientation programs that set new hires up for success
  • Administering long-term disability, WSIB/WCB, and provincial occupational injury claims
  • Overseeing quarterly HR metrics and reporting
  • Assisting with payroll coordination, benefits administration, and compliance audits
  • Supporting Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) activities and return-to-work plans
  • Managing service award programs and employee documentation (e.g. employment letters)
  • Promoting safety culture through reporting and program support
  • Maintaining training records and helping launch leadership development initiatives
  • Coordinating and conducting interviews with hiring managers
  • Setting up new hires and ensuring onboarding runs smoothly
  • Monitoring employment law updates and assisting with policy updates
  • Maintaining confidentiality and consistency in all HR processes

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field
  • Additional training certification in OH&S, or Employment Law, is considered an asset.
  • 3-8 years of HR experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a generalist or leadership role
  • Proven knowledge of Canadian employment laws, OH&S, and multi-jurisdictional practices
  • Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or customs brokerage (an asset)
  • Knowledge of HRIS or ERP systems like AS400 or CargoWise
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities across all levels
  • A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada
  • Bilingual (English/French) would be an asset
