IT System Administrator

Mission: Groq is looking for a System Administrator with broad experience across multiple technologies while having deep experience in key areas (Jack of all trades, master of some). This role will work to automate what can be automated, and handle the hands-on tasks that are a part of supporting a dynamic and growing company. 
As a part of the IT team, this role will support daily operations, drive strategic initiatives, and work across multiple departments to help Groq continue to scale. This role will also be involved in developing infrastructure strategy, scaling systems, and leading cross-functional IT projects.
Responsibilities and Essential DutiesMaintain highly effective and professional communication with internal customers and  partner groupsResponsible for System Administration and Management across several platforms, including Linux, macOS and WindowsTroubleshoot issues from basic help desk tickets to complex system problems.Automate routine tasks and key systemsDevelop and execute project plansWork closely with Information Security, Facilities and other departmentsCreate and maintain documentation Provide a quality onboarding and offboarding experienceTravel occasionally for new office setup, system rollouts, and executive supportSupport and mentor helpdesk staff, ensuring both effective troubleshooting and professional developmentEvaluate, design, and implement scalable IT solutions to support company growthEnsure compliance with security and regulatory requirements across systems and services
Qualifications & Skills Minimum qualifications:5+ years of System Administration across Linux, macOS and WindowsProfessional experience using MDM tools (Microsoft InTune preferred)Familiarity with common configuration management systems (saltstack, ansible, terraform)Advanced troubleshooting skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsSolid understanding and experience with Networking (e.g. DNS, DHCP, VPN, TCP/IP, Routing, Firewalls)Administration of common business systems (e.g. Google Workspace, M365, Okta)Cloud Administration experience (GCP, AWS, Azure, OCI)Detail Oriented and Highly OrganizedExperienced working effectively with outside vendors and groupsA flexible mindset when it comes to technology as a solutionDegree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent professional experienceExperience supporting individuals with a wide range of technical skills, knowledge and experienceProven scripting/automation experience (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for system administration and task automationUnderstanding of where and how to apply security principles into IT

Preferred qualifications:Experience working in a start-up environmentCuriosity and an open mind in using AI/ML technologies to solve IT problemsDirect experience with Okta, Google Workspace, InTune, TerraformDeep Windows, macOS and Linux administration experienceExperience setting up and maintaining offices and sites (e.g., deploying networking, conference rooms, access control).Experience providing technical support for executives and board members with a focus on high availability and discretion.Disaster recovery and business continuity planning experienceFamiliarity with lab/server environments

Compensation: At Groq, a competitive base salary is part of our comprehensive compensation package, which includes equity and benefits. For this role, salary range is determined by your location, skills, qualifications, experience and internal benchmarks. Compensation for candidates outside the USA will be dependent on the local market.
