The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced
General Manager
to lead our operations, drive strategic growth, and ensure NATS Nursery continues to thrive as a cornerstone of the native plant industry. This is an exceptional opportunity to combine business leadership with environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership:
    Develop and implement business strategies to achieve growth and profitability goals.
  • Operational Oversight:
    Manage day-to-day operations including production, sales, logistics, and customer service.
  • Team Development:
    Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of horticultural professionals and support staff.
  • Financial Management:
    Oversee budgets, financial planning, and reporting to ensure sustainable profitability.
  • Customer & Community Engagement:
    Build strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders in the ecological restoration and landscaping sectors with a significant focus on Indigenous partners and Nations.
  • Innovation & Sustainability:
    Champion sustainable practices and explore new opportunities in native plant production and green infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in horticulture, agriculture, or related industries with direct reports of at least 10 managers/supervisors and a total of 40+ employees
  • Strong business acumen with experience in operations, finance, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for native plants, ecological restoration, and sustainability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal business environment.
  • Post-secondary education in business, horticulture, or a related field is an asset.
