We are a busy, fast-growing café/restaurant known for great food, great coffee, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. As we head into our busy season, we're looking for an energetic and personable server to join our team.

Position:

Part-Time Server (with the opportunity to transition to full-time once summer season begins)

We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Server to join our dynamic restaurant team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced, fine dining environment. This role involves providing attentive service, managing food and beverage orders, and ensuring guest satisfaction through excellent hospitality and food safety practices. Prior experience in food service, restaurant operations, or hospitality is preferred, along with proficiency in POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS. A background in culinary arts or food industry knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and provide attentive table service throughout their dining experience
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems like Aloha POS and Micros POS
  • Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
  • Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering and cash handling duties
  • Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations, including bussing and sanitation tasks
  • Assist with food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
  • Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction
  • Support host/host duties when needed, including seating arrangements and waitlist management
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and quality standards are met

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service or restaurant operations preferred; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable is highly desirable
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
  • Ability to perform basic math for cash handling and order calculations accurately
  • Experience in upselling menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and sales performance
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends if required
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on guest relations and teamwork
